On 7 March, the transaction involving the sale of 90% of the shares in the railway company Olavion to the Unimot Group was successfully closed. Unimot is a listed company operating in the fuel import sector. Loewen acted as legal counsel to the selling shareholders of Olavion.
The closing marks the completion of the preliminary share sale agreement entered by Olavion’s shareholders and the Unimot Group in early January 2023.
Olavion, in which the Unimot Group has acquired a majority stake, provides rail freight transport services in Poland under a single safety certificate, as well as freight forwarding services domestically and internationally. Olavion operates a fleet of 16 locomotives and employs 79 employees, including 49 train drivers. In 2022, Olavion transported goods with a total weight exceeding 1.1 million tonnes, and its annual transport capacity is estimated at approximately 1.7 million tonnes.
The selling shareholders of Olavion were represented in the transaction by Loewen’s lawyers: advocate Szymon Kaczmarek, and attorney-at-law Artur Zawadowski.
