SZYMON KACZMAREK
Advocate, Managing partner
He provides legal services for private and public companies, deals with M&A transactions, transformations, mergers, and divisions of commercial companies, designs business ventures, draws up investment agreements and shareholders’ agreements, as well as financial documentation, including lodging securities. He also specializes in providing comprehensive services to Alternative Investment Funds and Alternative Investment Fund Managers, as well as in advising on compliance, including counteracting money laundering and financing of terrorism. He also conducted unusual and complicated lawsuits, including toxic currency options, or before the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS).
Graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at Warsaw University and from the International Relations Institute at Warsaw University; he is a scholarship holder at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, USA. In 2012, he was entered into the list of advocates kept by the Warsaw Bar Association. In 2014, he completed post-graduate Capital Market Law Studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Warsaw University. In 2024, he was entered into the list of MTF Authorised Advisers.

KATARZYNA IKWANTY
Managing director, Partner
She has practical experience in day-to-day advisory for Polish and international corporate clients. At the office of Loewen, she is responsible for comprehensive management; supervises timeliness and punctuality, quality and proper performance of works, administrative issues; and takes care of maintaining relationships with partners and clients of the Loewen Legal Hub.
Graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.
ARTUR ZAWADOWSKI
Attorney-at-law, Partner
He specializes in servicing the restructuring and reorganization of enterprises, advising on structured financing and M&A transactions. His practice also includes advising on financial markets law, banking law and corporate matters. He has worked for the largest entities on the market in the banking, financial, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, construction and chemical sectors. He is competent in Polish, EU and American law.
Graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at Warsaw University and the Faculty of Law at Harvard University. He also studied law at the Faculty of Law at Utrecht University and at the British Law Center at Warsaw University. In 2018 he completed the Advanced Management Program at IESE Business School. Listed as an attorney-at-law by the Warsaw Bar Association of Attorneys-at-law, and on the list of attorneys at the Supreme Court of New York State, USA.
In 2003 he conducted a series of training courses for judges on bankruptcy law commissioned by the Minister of Justice. In 2005-2010 he taught law at the Executive MBA and International MBA at the Business School of the Warsaw University of Technology. He was an arbitrator in proceedings before the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce. In the years 1994-1999 he worked at the law firm of Hogan & Hartson. From 1999 he was associated with Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where in 2006 he became a partner and the head of the financing and restructuring department. In 2017-2019 he cooperated with the LSW law firm. Since 2020 he ran an individual consulting practice, and in 2023 he joined Loewen as a partner.
In 2011 Artur Zawadowski became a member of the Program Council of the Property Law Clinic of Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights. He has been awarded several times as the Pro Bono Lawyer of 2006 and Benefactor of the Year. Recommended in Chambers & Partners ranking in the category of restructuring lawyers in Poland.
PAWEŁ JAWORSKI
Trainee advocate
Paweł specializes in the field of commercial and labor law and has experience in providing ongoing corporate advisory services to Polish and international clients. He assists Loewen lawyers in providing legal services to Polish and foreign entities, including the restructuring and reorganization of enterprises, as well as drafting commercial contracts and advising on M&A transactions.
Graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Warsaw University. A trainee advocate at the Warsaw Bar Association since 2022.
IZABELA KSIĘŻOPOLSKA
Trainee advocate
Izabela’s main interests focus on commercial law and civil procedure. She assists Loewen lawyers in providing legal services for Polish commercial law entities, i.a. in representing clients in civil proceedings, conducting registration and liquidation proceedings, drafting commercial agreements and civil law contracts, as well as providing corporate services for foreign clients.

WIKTOR KOZON
Trainee advocate
Wiktor’s interests focus on commercial law and compliance. His experience includes providing ongoing corporate services to clients, advising on anti-money laundering (AML) and representing clients in civil litigation. He assists Loewen lawyers in providing legal services to commercial entities, including public companies, drafting commercial and civil law contracts and advising on M&A transactions.
Graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw. A trainee advocate at the Warsaw Bar Association since 2023.
MAKSYMILIAN SMYKLIŃSKI
Trainee advocate
Maksymilian specialises in corporate law, in particular in providing day-to-day corporate services to Polish and international clients and in M&A transactions. He is also experienced in due diligence and in preparing and negotiating transaction documentation. Maksymilian advises Polish and foreign entities, acting on the seller’s side as well as the buyer’s side, both in the private and public sector.
Graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Nicolaus Copernicus University. Since 2024, A trainee advocate at the Warsaw Bar Association since 2024.
BENEDYKT BALIGA
Attorney-at-law
Benedykt Baliga specializes in copyright law and the protection of personal rights. He advises on concluding license agreements and other contracts related to copyrights. Where negotiations fail, he successfully conducts litigation before common courts. He also assists entrepreneurs in complying with the General Data Protection Regulation and national data protection regulations. In the past, he held the position of a data protection inspector in Grupa Wydawnicza ZNAK. He has experience gained in the publishing industry.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of Jagiellonian University and completed postgraduate studies preparing for the function of a data protection inspector at Wojciech Korfanty Upper Silesian School of Commerce in Katowice. In 2014, he was listed as an attorney-at-law by the Krakow Bar Association of Attorneys-at-law.
MICHAŁ GIERA
Attorney-at-law
He specializes in commercial law and Polish capital market law. He deals with issues connected with public trading of securities, purchasing enterprises, merging, dividing end transforming commercial companies. He successfully introduced many companies to trading on Warsaw Stock Exchange and the Polish NewConnect market. He participated in the preparation of public offering of shares (IPO) based on the prospectus, “non-prospective” issue of shares, and the so-called PRE-IPO.
He advises on all matters of commercial law, in particular regarding civil disputes related to the conducted business activity, including violations of the rules of fair competition, on the selection of optimal forms of conducting business and capital investments, with particular emphasis on the creation and negotiation of investment agreements with PE/VC funds. He has experience in resolving disputes and conflicts between shareholders/stockholders of commercial companies, as well as in setting up VC funds jointly with the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBiR).
